What we work on, ward by ward
Our work covers five areas. Each one came from problems people in Jatni told us about.
Area 01
Public Health & Preventive Education
Many health problems in our town can be prevented if people know the signs early. We work alongside the Community Health Centre and municipal health teams to bring that information to every ward.
- Health and fitness awareness sessions in wards and schools
- Tobacco-free and mental health campaigns
- NCD (diabetes, blood pressure) awareness and screening camps
- Joint work with the CHC and municipal health teams
Area 02
Cleanliness, Sanitation & Hygiene
A clean town is a healthy town. Our volunteers go to schools, markets and neighbourhoods to clean up and to talk with people about keeping it that way.
- School and community cleanliness drives
- Handwashing awareness for children and families
- Monitoring of public toilets with the municipality
- Market cleanliness and door-to-door campaigns
Area 03
Road Safety & Injury Prevention
Road accidents take too many young lives. We use street plays and public art so that the message of helmets, seat belts and safe crossing reaches people where they are.
- Street plays (nukkad natak) on helmet and seat belt use
- Community demonstrations at busy junctions
- Installation of road safety hoardings
- Digital wall paintings promoting safe mobility
Area 04
Youth Empowerment & Community Engagement
Young people are the backbone of JYS. We train them, give them responsibility in their own wards, and help them grow into leaders their neighbours trust.
- Digital literacy sessions for young people
- International Youth Day and Independence Day activities
- Ward-level volunteer leadership
- Festival-based awareness drives
Area 05
Education & Awareness Initiatives
Children carry what they learn back home. Our school campaigns and printed material make sure messages on hygiene and road safety reach families across Jatni.

- Posters, hoardings, banners and digital wall paintings
- IEC (Information, Education and Communication) material development
- Distribution of pamphlets in schools, markets and wards
